about

"Locker Room Talk" explores the danger of indifference and the intersections between patriarchy and white supremacy I’ve noticed in my community. All of the streaming and purchasing revenue will be donated to the national Black Lives Matter organization.

lyrics

Don’t mind the wreck that we made
Friends of your brother the next town over
They stood by and watched
And I’d say so should you

Don’t mind the blue that we save
The lawn smelled of tear gas as Miles scrolled past
He watched us with pride
And I’d say so should you

It’s all just locker room talk
Don’t mind the boys' clubs, the Proud Boys
The boys like your father
It’s all just locker room talk

Don’t mind the pages we turn
Flames of the white men inciting the violence
Spines have been breaking
And I’d say so should you

It’s all just locker room talk
Don’t mind the boys' clubs, the Proud Boys
The boys like your father
It’s all just locker room talk

It’s all just locker room talk
Don’t mind the boys' clubs, the Proud Boys
The boys like your father
It’s all just locker room talk

Don’t mind the cross that we burn
Ghosts of our daydreams roaming in circles
Our minds have all melted
And I’d say so should you

It’s all just locker room talk
Don’t mind the boys' clubs, the Proud Boys
The boys like your father
It’s all just locker room talk

We live in a society that demands us to be anti-racist
Ripples of indifference lead to waves of implicit racism
Which lead to tsunamis of white supremacy
It is time to be better

What will you do
Will you donate to a Black-led organization
Will you educate yourself by reading articles, novels, and histories
Will you call out your racist friends and family
Will you

An indie artist from Michigan, Rebs perpetually strives for intersectionality. As a queer, Chinese-American artist, they seek to represent the nuance and complexity of a layered identity and existence.
